Moonstone and pearl necklace
£3,500.00
A refined Late Victorian necklace crafted in gilded silver, dating to the Aesthetic Period (circa 1880–1901).
This exquisite piece features a graceful arrangement of oval moonstones, each displaying a soft, ethereal adularescence. The stones are set in open‑back mounts, allowing light to illuminate their natural glow — a hallmark of high‑quality Victorian craftsmanship.
Delicate accents of tiny natural pearls enrich the design, adding texture and subtle luminosity. These miniature pearls were a beloved detail in late 19th‑century artistic jewellery, symbolising purity and refinement.
The necklace measures 40 cm in length, with an additional 1.9 cm provided by the central pendant drop. It fastens securely with its original box closure, complemented by a safety chain for added confidence in wear.
This antique jewel survives in very good condition, retaining its charm, integrity, and unmistakable Victorian character.
